THE SWING
How do you like to go up in a swing,
up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all…Over the countryside~~
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown~~
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
(from my favorite childhood book  ‘A Child’s GARDEN of VERSES’ by Robert Louis Stevenson, a birthday present from my beloved Uncle Jerry when I was 5.)

Singing in the Rain

Humm, do you suppose “Singing in the Rain” came about because I grew up in a happy family of five!  We lived on the Pacific Coast of Washington, where  it rained lots… and everything was green and mossy and lush!  I painted this in a 24″ X 36″ for Adrienne’s family in SC.

I gave Zelda from South Africa permission to complete a mosaic she did of my “Singing in the Rain” image.  What an amazing job!  She was hoping it would help bring rain to her parched country!

Yesterday after a good night of rain I was able to weed for two hours in-between sunshine, clouds, wind, and even warm rain sprinkles!  It was really fun!
